Sweet potato pie recipE

Sweet potato pie, my oh my! What would a Thanksgiving feast be without some comfort food? While sweet potato pie recipes vary, I have my favorite recipe that you will want to try for your dinner. If you have sweet potatoes, spices and butter, you can make this dessert with a minimal budget.

Looking for a sweet potato pie recipe, you came to the right place. Every year, I love to make this recipe and share my fabulous baking talent with my loved ones. Not only is this recipe easy, but it doesn’t require a whole lot of groceries.

Get out your pen and paper or printer ready because here is what you will need to get together for your creation.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup butter (you will want it softened)
2 eggs (you will want to separate them)
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup evaporated milk
1 1/2 cups cooked mashed sweet potatoes
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ginger
and 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust

After you have gathered all your supplies, you want to preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Next up, cream your butter and sugar and beat well until you have mixed it thoroughly. When complete, add the egg yolks and mix those in well.

After that you want to stir in the sweet potatoes, milk, nutmeg, vanilla, cinnamon and ginger spices! You will want to have another bowl handy to mix your egg whites and 1/4 cup of your sugar/butter mixture. Add in the spiced up sweet potato mixture and mix well! Fold into the sweet potato mixture.

Finally put your filling into the pie crust and bake it for 40 minutes! When done baking, let it cool and then serve with whipped cream topping!

Have a happy holiday season!
